Fun Photo Friday 2/26

Hey everyone! Friday came late this week, but I think you all survived without a timely update. At least I am more on top of things than the trash pick-up in our neighborhood, going on 8 days late now... But anyways, only a couple things for y'all today, but I have plans to make a post besides photos in the next week or so! Hazel is not as invisible as she thinks... I have a lovely nametag thanks to my coworker! Our store is the snazziest Starbucks around (probably) thanks to her artistic skills. That's all folks! Let me know how you're doing!

Hello friends! I've got a good one for you today. What has Hazel been up to? Hazel provided a lot of moral support during my studies this week. She also did a bit of studying on her own. Gotta take a closer look at that info box That feeling when you scream into the void while yawning. A series of cozy Hazels This may just look like Hazel in my lap, but it's also me putting off lunch for a good 20 minutes because Hazel was so comfy. Accidental flash is dramatic. Hazel is pretending to be a moustache. This is also how an alarming number of customers think a mask should be worn. In other news... My Starbucks hat has started shaping my hair into some sort of crest. Also more Hazel. My phone says that Paul sent me a picture of Boycat in the year 53,069. Thanks for keeping up with the weekly updates! What Hazel picture are you most feeling today? I think the screaming into the void will speak to a lot of people.

Another week gone by! What has Hazel been up to? Ever get the feeling someone is looking over your shoulder? I gifted Hazel my water bottle. I don't think it was appreciated. In other news... I made a very labor-intensive cake. The labor was more intensive because the batter overflowed all over my oven and started smoking out my kitchen as it burned. In related news, I have a freshly scrubbed oven. In unrelated news, I have a lovely girlfriend who is much more shapely than this cake. I FINALLY made vegan ricotta . I served it with beets, orange vinaigrette , and quinoa. Thanks for stopping by!

TGIFPF, my friends! What has Hazel been up to? Another chapter in the riveting saga of "Will Hazel ever figure out how to get downstairs?" Hazel made a little dip in the blanket to insert her face. My taking the photo disturbed her. Hazel came to look at me while I sat at my desk. Then set her lasers to Hypnotize. Ever just feel like faceplanting into your bed? Hazel inspects my face after work. If only photos could capture Hazel's purring In other news... I made lemon cheesecake bars! From scratch! Even the crust (if smashing vanilla wafer cookies and mixing them with butter is from scratch) I attended a live virtual event celebrating Paul's new album, under the name State Machines. The photo that displayed during the whole show ensured that Boycat attended in spirit. You can check out the recording  from the event and/or you can check out the new State Machines album . Thanks for stopping by! Do Fridays mean anything to you besides pictures of Hazel? Now that I wor

Why am I leaving Facebook and Instagram?

Hello, devoted reader (or hopefully, readers). Many of you are likely reading this blog because I have announced that I will be leaving Facebook and encouraged you to read this instead of my Facebook posts. But why am I doing any of this? Won’t it be harder to communicate with people without Facebook? Isn’t it inconvenient for people to have to go to a separate website to look at pictures of Hazel? And now I’m expecting people to read ? Why this sudden sadism? Well, I’ve been thinking. And when I start thinking, I usually think a lot, so get comfy. I’ve been thinking about accountability, and power, and ethics, and the role I play in the world being what it is. I’ve been thinking about how much of our lives are shaped by choices that we know little to nothing about. I spend a lot of time wondering about the behind-the-scenes of my choices. How does my diet affect the planet? Is streaming music ethical? What actually happens to what I put in the recycling bin? How can Facebook be so l
